Compton Junior Equestrians Team
Dedication. Commitment. Passion.
CJE was formed to make equine programs available to youth in the Compton community who are at-risk and underserved. The English component of the CJE program is dedicated to advanced riders who have chosen to branch off into the discipline of English riding.
CJE serves as a safe haven away from the dangers of the streets, such as drugs, gangs, and poverty. Horseback riding naturally helps build coping mechanisms for the youth, in turn, youth gain respect for animals and nature, and each other, building lifelong bonds.
Jaymie Sutton Culver
OLIVE
My name is Jaymie Sutton, I am 16 years old and a sophomore in high school. My goal is to become a farrier but my passion is riding. I have been riding horses since I was 8 years old, I took one lesson and I was hooked. I started out riding as an Eventer which is how I found my love for jumping. However once I got my horse Olive, a new door to the Hunter/Jumper and Eq world opened up. Now I compete in the .75-.90 Jumper classes with my horse. My goals for the 2024 show season are to be competing in the 1m and 1.10m as well as to perfect my riding.
